If you made $168,000 a year as the president and founder of a small successful company and had tons of flexibility with your schedule, would you consider yourself successful?

I would consider that to be very successful. But my definition of success doesn’t match up with anyone’s. To me that’s a more than satisfactory wage. It would be doing something I enjoy, and best of all, the flexibility to spend plenty of time with family, or doing other things I love.
However, some people might not think its enough money. Others like my wife might think its too much. Some people would rather gouge their own eyes out with a shrimp fork and serve them a la mode to a group of snooty French diplomats than have anything to do with running a business. And even some others wouldn’t know what to do with their lives if they had free time and would rather work. Or maybe they need a structured schedule to live their life without anxiety.
The point is, you can ask a million people what their idea of success is, and get a million answers. Success is doing what brings you satisfaction from life and what meets your physical needs to a level you are comfortable with.
